Makeup tips for monsoons

August 18, 2008

Do you have date lined up and a monsoon weather playing a spoilsport, and then don’t panic anymore. Here are some nice ways to make your makeup as well as your hair stand up to the monsoon. Just follow the tips…

Remember that it’s better not to use foundation during the monsoon unless you want to get caught in a messy situation. You can try a face powder instead-oil based, not liquid one. Water resistance foundations work well and will leave you with a well groomed and neat look. Also, avoid using a concealer in monsoon; just touch up with foundation if you must, apply it on spots that needs touching up under eye dark circles or blemishes.

Lipstick tends to get wash away very easily during monsoon. A better option will be to line your lips with a lip liner and then fill it with the same. That way it will stay on longer. Otherwise stick to long lasting shades-stay/non-transfer variety of lipstick. Keep the creamy, glossy ones aside and opt for power, matte tones or cream matte tints as they will give depth and enhance your appearance. Lighter shades work well this season. Always carry two basic shades of lipstick –brown and pink in your carry bag. Wear the pink lipstick with pink and purple outfits; while brown shade with maroon and black ensembles.

Cream blushers are water friendly. After wearing this, even if your face get wet, just dab it with a tissue and your blush will stay just like before. Shades of peaches and browns will make you stand out this season.

Give kajal a pass in the monsoon.-it spreads easily and can make you look scary. Opt for transparent moisturizing mascara that will highlight and define your eye lashes rather than colored mascara.
