List Of Superstitious Beliefs Related With New Year

Throughout the world, all the people link new years with some or the other superstitious beliefs. How much these beliefs are true, no one knows, but still everyone have faith in them to certain extent. Some of such beliefs are written below in this article- just read them out!

Avoid crying:

It is said that one should avoid breaking things or crying and wailing on the first day of the year, if you don’t want to continue the pattern for the entire year.

Be polite:

Many people believe that one should behave nicely on New Year and must refrain from using foul language, no matter whatever happens.

In several countries, people believe not to let money; jewellery, precious items or other invaluable things leave home on New Year day. Not only this, people go to the extent of not taking out garbage or even not dusting their carpets on this day to ensure that nothing goes out the house during the year.

Many people believe that babies born on 1st January are lucky in their lives in terms of money, health as well as happiness.

Many people also believe that on New Year, a person must never leave the home before someone else comes in first. First footer in the home should be ushered in with a warm welcome and should not have the flat feet, cross-eyes or eyebrows stretching out to meet in the middle. It would be even better if he or she came bearing certain small gifts.

It is also believed that one should do little amount of work on New Year’s Day to ensure advancement in his or her career.

May people believe that washing dishes and doing laundry work on New Year’s Day can lead to the death of a family member during the year.
