List of monsoon infections. Beware!
Undoubtedly monsoons have always been synonymous with infections that send your stomach for a heavy toss. Some of the most common stomach related monsoons infections are listed below, so just take care of yourself before they hit you.
Gastroenteritis:
It is also known as stomach flu. The E coli bacterium causes this intestinal infection which results in inflammation of gastro-intestinal track. The various symptoms of this ailment are vomiting, fever, abdominal pain, diarrhea and dehydration. But thankfully this disease is self –limiting. It des not require much treatment other than keeping the patient rehydrated. But if extreme cases of dehydration and kidney shutdown, when person founds himself incapable of passing urine, medical attention is required.
Malaria:
Malaria is caused by a parasite and transmitted via the bite of an infected mosquito. This parasite multiplies in your liver and infects the red blood cells in your body. Mind it, if malaria is not treated timely and quickly, it can prove to be a life threatening disease by disrupting the blood supply to reach your vital body organs. The various symptoms of malaria are fever, vomiting, headache and jaundice.
Typhoid:
Typhoid is caused by a bacteria named as salmonella typhi. This aliment gets essentially caused by poor hygiene, more specially due to feeding yourself with food handled by an infected person. The various symptoms of typhoid are fever, headache, abdominal pain and diaraohea. Mind it, that if you left your typhoid untreated, it can cause severe complications and even result in your untimely death. The treatment of typhoid consists of antibiotics for prolonged period of two or more weeks. Even an intra muscular vaccine to fight typhoid is also given to patients, though this vaccine is not given to all patients due to its possible side effects and repercussions.
