Is your teenager drinking-Read this
With number of youngsters partying out these days, drinking has become a norm for them. moreover, there are only fewer parents who communicate their teens about the ill-effects of drinking .may be your child is just trying out drinks for the heck of it without realizing that he or she is getting addicted to them .you can always check for alcohol symptoms in your teenager. Alcohol intake can lead to emotional turbulence. It can also lead to fatigue, bloodshot eyes, bags under eyes, moodiness. It may affect the self-esteem of your child. If you find any change in his or her friend circle, then talk over it. Look out for his or her new interests. Also, check out if there are changes in his or her academic performance or in disciplinary issues.
Mind it, that it’s not enough to just tell your teenage children to say no to alcohol. If it were that easy! It is a responsibility of parents to effectively guide and educate their children on the dangers of drinking. Just telling them ‘don’t drink and drive, it’s dangerous’ may seem like a lecture to them. So, offer them with a real education. Why not Just workout some easy solutions on mutual level to curb the dangers of drinking? Some of them are mentioned below-just have a look!
If your child drinks at party, tell him not to drive at all. Ask them to call you up in such condition to get you back home, no matter what the time is.
Promise not to yell, lecture, or give a guilt trip when you pick up your child. Instead thank him or her. It is only the morning after that you should discuss about moderating alcohol intake and night-outs.
Tell your child before hand that never should he or she ride with someone who is already drunk up. Be it friends or friend’s friend.
