Is your child safe?
on one end, if internet exploration has provided world with million of opportunities, expanding their horizons, exposing them to different cultures and educating them with infinite knowledge; then on the other end, excessive use of online facilities these days have made children to become increasingly exposed to wily sex perverts. Individual offenders sexually exploit children through the use of various online services and internet, seducing them by giving gifts, affection and kindness. Remember children are the valuable asset of the nation. Parents should have a vital role in protecting their children, guarding them against paedophiles. So, be alert and keep a watch on your child’s activity.
Your child may be a victim of cyber sex if:
*he /she spend more time on internet, especially at night.
*mails and packets are coming from someone you don’t know.
*loses interest in physical games
*whenever you enter their room and monitor screen is quickly changed or set off.
*you notice phone calls from someone unknown to you from long distance
If you suspect any one above written points, then try to sort out the matter as soon as possible. Talk to your child openly about your suspicion. Educate them about the danger of cyber sex psychos. It would be wise if you review your child’s computer once in a week. Check out for pornography or any kind of sexual communication on computer as they can be warning signs. You can purchase a device that allows you to view the list of dialed and received numbers. Make the use of redial facility, if you suspect anything wrong. You can also take the help of caller id services provided by telephone companies. They aid you by providing services like blocking or rejecting the calls from specified numbers, which prevents computer sex offender as well as outsiders from calling your home anonymously.
