How to Take Care of Sensitive Skin

February 11, 2009

Do you get rashes and irritated skin by the mere application of makeup and or even due to slight exposure of your skin to the sun? Many people have sensitive skin and the usual belief in such people is that they can apply no makeup on their skin.

However, everybody has a right to look beautiful and sensitive skin people are no exceptions. Given below are some tips which can help you take proper care of your sensitive skin and make it healthy and naturally beautiful.

First of all, you should know that if you have sensitive skin, you need to take extra care of your skin. This is because sensitive skin easily reacts to extreme weather conditions, exposure to sun or to artificial products and cosmetics with chemicals. Thus, you need to protect your sensitive skin from these triggers. Additionally, a proper skin care regimen is essential to prevent appearance of ugly, red patches on your skin.

Here are few tips which can help protect your sensitive skin. Always apply a proper sunscreen lotion to prevent your skin from harmful UV rays. Avoid going out in the peak hours of sun. Also, do not think that sunscreen applied once is effective throughout the day. There are times when you have to re-apply the layer of protective sunscreen for continuous protection.

Always keep your skin clean and hygienic. Prefer using more of natural face wash and creams to avoid contact of your skin with harmful chemicals of cosmetics. Also, do not over wash your wash as that strips the skin from essential moisture.

Along with basic skin care, take care of your diet. Have a well balanced and a nutritious diet and strictly avoid drugs and alcohol intake. Follow these simple tips to prevent the frequent flaring up of your sensitive skin.
