How To Stay In Shape In Christmas Season

December 11, 2008

Certainly holiday season is not far away! The unending parties, exquisite dinners and alcohol which are all organized during these holidays makes it very hard for you to stay fit and lose weight. So here are tricks written below that will surely keep a check on your calories while you enjoy our festivities.

On an average, people gain two kilos in four weeks Christmas period. Shocking! Isn’t it? Definitely trying to lose weight at this time is totally ridiculous and socially unpleasant. But one can still cut calories in Christmas meal by choosing white turkey, removing its skin and stacking on high unbuttered veggies. Drink wine instead of cocktails or creamy tipples to keep the things in control in parties. You an also swap each alcoholic drink with a glass of water. Adding fizzy water to white wine for spriters that last longer makes sure that you do not take in extra calories.

Always keep in mind that munching over endless snacks items can prove to be very disastrous for your body’s health. You will be surprised to read that all those canapés that you love eating are highly rich in calories. You can easily consume the equivalent of a whole meal just in canapés. So it would be better for you to stick to a golden rule- just keep one handful of crisps or nuts and then stop when it comes to snacking. It will keep you away from all those high fried stuffs. Avoid creamy toppings, pastry bases in parties. Just go for one or two and then stop.

Don’t forget to work out this Christmas season by shopping or good amount of brisk walking. Mind it, that just a half hour of brisk walking can burn up to 200 calories.
