Most of us tend to take medicines to get immediate relief from stomach aches which can range from mild to severe and can also be accompanied by nausea and vomiting.
Before treating the problem, you need to know its cause. Stomach ache is uncomfortable and can be caused by a number of factors like indigestion, heartburn, upset stomach, ulcer, overeating and even food poisoning. While severe forms of stomach aches need to get treated via doctor, there are certain natural ways by which you can soothe your aching stomach without resorting to drugs and medicines whose excess intake can lead to side effects over a period of time.
Many a times indigestion and the inability of the stomach acids to break down food lead to the problem of stomach ache. You can soothe such stomach aches by eating yogurt which is full of healthy bacteria for your stomach. Also avoid eating fatty, spicy and oily food as that seems to hamper the digestive system leading to stomach related problems and stomach irritation.
Intake of water or ginger ale has also been found beneficial during episodes of stomach ache. Ginger is one of the most natural herbs which helps in soothing the stomach. You can drink fresh ginger ale and can also slowly chew its peeled root. Another effective way of soothing paining stomach is by taking fresh juice of lime in a glass of hot water and sipping it slowly. This helps in flushing out toxins along with aiding digestion.
If your pain is due to stomach ulcers, then bananas can be of a great help. Eat two bananas with a glass of milk to soothe acid reflux. Intake of fenugreek seeds also help in soothing stomach pains. If your stomach pain refuses to budge despite these natural cures, then you should consult a doctor before taking any medication.
