How to Recognize a Stroke
Stroke can lead to huge damage and devastation of health. It is particularly a brain damage caused by a blocked blood vessel or due to bleeding in the brain. They thus need to be recognized on time so as to be treated on time. By recognizing the warning signs of stroke on time, you can prevent yourself as well as your near and dear ones from severe health disability. Given below are such important symptoms and warning signals each one of us must be aware of.
When it comes to health, every second counts. Thus, keep a watch for these given symptoms to secure your healthy and happy life. Warning signals of stroke include sudden numbness or weakness of face, arm or leg.
It usually occurs on one side of the body. You might also find difficulty or blurredness of vision; sudden confusion and difficulty in comprehension; dizziness and even loss of balance; and also severe headaches without any particular cause for it. These are the general symptoms of strokes but they might differ with different levels of strokes. For instance, if you are having an ischemic stroke which is caused by a clot, you will find symptoms on the opposite side of the brain affected. For example, if your left side of the brain is getting affected due to stroke, you will feel symptoms in the right side of your body. Similarly, hemorrhagic stroke caused by bleeding in the brain can show distinguishable symptoms like high pressure in the brain leading to headaches, nausea, irritability, confusion and even unconsciousness.
Symptoms of stroke can progress in minutes and even hours. Thus, you need to get immediate treatment to avoid extreme damage. It thus becomes imperative to be aware of the various symptoms and warning signs of stroke so that they can be treated on time.
