How to puppy proof your home
Before you bring an adorable new puppy into your life, it’s important to make sure that your home is a safer place for him or her to live and grow in. Here are some ways that can help you to puppy proof your home so as to prevent any kind of hazardous event to occur.
Make sure you tuck all the electrical cords and wires at a place where your puppy can’t get over. You can always use a duct tape for securing them from your pet’s way. Remember an electric shock can prove to be very fatal, so keep a watchful eye over this stuff; otherwise your puppy will chew those cords and affect himself or herself badly.
Pets always have a great interest in kitchen waste bin which smells tempting because of food scraps. It would be smart if you keep the lids closed and avoid placing them nearby your pet’s area. Spoiled food, sharp lids and discarded toxic materials are just some of the risk that lurk inside your home, just keep a check on them.
It is very important that you pick up and put away all the swallowable objects from your puppy’s reach, no matter how small and big they are. Getting hold of or swallowing of any objects with sharp cuts like pins or razor blade can prove to be very dangerous for your puppy. Small items like these can really cause serious injuries to your pet digestive tract.
See that no container of cleansers, poisons, polishes and other dangerous chemicals are left in puppy –level, easy to open cabinets. Also watch out that products like oven cleaners, floor products, waxes, bathroom cleansers, make up items, paint removers, plant fertilizers and sprays, laundry products, insect traps or sprays and rodent poisons are all placed beyond your pet’s reach.
