How to Protect your Eyes from Harmful UV Rays

April 4, 2009

protect-your-eyes-from-harmful-uv-raysWhen it comes to eyes, no one likes to take any chances. After all, our eyes are precious and one should value them. Just like we protect our skin from the harmful radiations of sun, we also need to protect our eyes. Eyes are sensitive and the harmful UV rays can damage them, and lead to various problems like cataract. Thus, given are some tips that will help you protect your eyes from sun.

When you go out in the sun, you usually apply sunscreen and wear full sleeved clothes to protect your delicate skin. But do you know that eyes are sensitive than skin and equally prone to the harmful effects of UV rays. But not many of us think about protecting them. To protect your eyes, you need to buy a good quality sunglass and wear it when going outside. Choose a sunglass that has proper UV protection from both UV-A and UV-B rays.

While there are many sunglasses, in cheaper range too, available in markets, not all are good. Save some time and invest in a good quality sunglass as cheap and poor quality sunglasses can further harm your eyes. Thus don’t indulge in buying sunglasses that are not good in quality, just to save a few bucks.

These days, even kids are prone to eye problems and thus even their eyes should be protected from harmful UV rays. Along with sunglasses, hats always work. They prevent the eyes from direct contact with the sun. It is advisable that you should avoid going out during peak sunny hours. Also, even if you are going out for a few minutes, don’t forget your protective sunglasses.

Thus, follow the above given tips to naturally protect your eyes from sun’s harmful radiations.
