How to prevent common cold
Hey people, mind it that the winter season can make you suffer from the problem of common cold. So make sure you take some preventable measures in this chilly weather, so that you can keep yourself at bay from cold infections. Here are some tips regarding the same, just read them out!
Wash your hands often in a day. Remember that frequent washing of hands in a day destroys viruses that might have got attached to your hands from touching the surfaces used by other people.
Make sure you avoid touching your face, if you find yourself around with a person already suffering from cold.
Make sure you avoid smoking as much as possible. Smoking is very much injurious to your overall health plus cigarette smoking irritates the airways and increases your susceptibility to cold and other nasal infections.
Make sure you keep household surfaces clean. Door knobs, drawer pulls, keyboards, light switches, telephones remote controls, countertops an sinks all harbor viruses for hours after their use by an infected person. So, make sure you wipe them off in good manner using soap and water. This will surely reduce your percentage of getting affected by cold in a strong way.
Always use paper towels in the kitchen and bathrooms for hands washing because when you make use of cloth towel, then germs remain alive on them for several hours, which increase the chances of spreading of germs. Otherwise have separate towels for all family members.
Throw away the tissues after use. Used tissues are sources of viruses that can contaminate any surface where they are left.
Make efforts to control your stress levels. It has been clinically proved that people with high levels of emotional stress have weakened immune systems and are more likely to catch cold.
