How to Prepare Curd Rice

We all usually include rice in our diet, and curd as we all know is a healthy food item. A mixture of these is known as curd rice and is a common and a tasty Indian dish. Given below is the simple way by which you can prepare curd or yogurt rice.

As the name suggests, the main ingredients of curd rice include curd and rice. One cup of boiled rice and 2 cups of yogurt are the main ingredients. To make the dish delicious, you need spices like green chilies, curry leaves, mustard seeds, coriander leaves and salt. These are the basic ingredients required for the preparation of curd rice and now let’s look at the way you can prepare curd rice with minimum effort and time.

There are many ways of making curd rice. Here is a convenient and easy way that will make a delicious dish ready in few minutes. First of all, take some oil in a cooking pan and heat it. After the oil is hot, you need to add mustard seeds, curry leaves and some red chilies in it.

Sauté the mixture for some time as it helps in providing your dish with a rich flavor and aroma. While you are stirring the mixture, you need to add curd and salt to it. Now your curd mixture is ready and all you need to add is your cooked rice. Mix them well and your curd rice is ready to eat.

Curd rice can be served hot as well as cold as it all depends upon specific likings of every individual. However, as shown above, it is easy to make and you can easily gain the benefits of curd and enjoy the delicious taste of curd and rice through this simple dish.
