How to Make your Child Self-Dependent

July 30, 2009

selfdependentchildIs your child too much dependent on you and lacks the confidence to face the world himself? If yes, then you must read below to find tips that can help you make your child self-dependent.

Self-dependence is an extremely important quality and everyone should have the required self confidence and strength to stamp their individual identities in this world. Thus, it is important for you, as a parent, to ensure that your child learns to become self-dependent.

To make your child self-dependent, you need to ensure your child is not heavily dependent on you for every small thing. The importance and habit of self-dependence needs to be inculcated in the child from his early years itself.

You can do this by teaching your child all the essential household chores that are required for him to grow up into an independent adult who does not have to depend upon servants to keep the house functioning properly. No work is big or small and to be a successful person in life, you should be both personally and professionally self-dependent.

As a parent, you should try to make your child confident and self-reliant from his early years. Teach your child all the essential values as well as the tricks and tips of surviving alone.

Give him emotional security that you are beside him always but also give him the freedom to explore his own identity. Instead of spoon-feeding your child, you should ensure he makes his own living and when required, you can always help him out. This will help your child to become more confident, self-reliant and self-dependent.

Every child is special and parents often end up over-pampering their children. Give your children love and support, but don’t make them handicapped that they have to depend on you for everything. Instead, teach them, give them confidence, moral support and strength so that they become self-dependent in life.
