How to Layer your Hair

September 30, 2008

Hair is one of the greatest asset of our body whose different stylization and cuts helps in providing a new and different look. You can easily try out new cuts to project your different styles to the world. One such style which is popular and trendy is that of layered hair. This hair cut or style provides you with a feeling of volume and length. While layered cut is a popular hair cut in parlors, you can do that yourself too. If you want to save your time and money, then read below to find out simple ways of layering cutting your hair yourself.

If you have some confidence and belief in yourself, you can easily cut your hair in a stylish layered manner. The first most important requirement is that of sharp scissors. Don’t experiment with blunt ones as they would result in a messy hairstyle. Before going in for a haircut, remember to thoroughly wash your hair and de-tangle them. After you have combed and de-tangled your hair, you need to look at the mirror to decide the exact length of your hair and how much you would like to cut them. After deciding the length of hair you want to cut, twist those gathered hair into a spiral and cut them off with sharp scissors. However, you need to remember certain things- you should first divide your hair into two portions so as to make the top layer and the bottom one. The top layer should be ideally shorter in length, at least three times less then than the bottom one as that would help in providing it with a layered look. If you want to get a long hair layered cut, then you should cut the top layer in such a way that it comes below the ear. The final touches of the layerd hair need to be provided by some twisting and curling of hair with the help of your fingertips.

Cutting your hair yourself is easy if you follow proper steps. Moreover, you can even stylize and layer your hair thereby saving time as well as money.
