How to keep your kids on healthy note

September 23, 2008

Are you upset that every now and then your brats gorge on junk food to satiate their hunger plus stay glued to PC or TV? Well your concern as parents is fully justified. Here are some ways that can help you to keep your kids on a healthy note, just read them out!

Prepare them for yoga:
Make sure your kids start their day with a warm yoga session. Motivate them to incorporate yoga in their daily schedule by telling them its benefit. Tell them how asana like kapalbharti beats stress level, pranayam boosts the metabolism and immunity. There are number of asana that they can perform to increase their body heights, add flexibility to spine, and strengthen kidneys, thigh muscles and back of their body. Ask them to wear loose fitting clothes at this time and take them to garden or park, in an open green atmosphere for a better experience. Most important, don’t force your child to exercise beyond his or her capacity else it can result in losing interest.

Build a home gym:
We all know that gyms don’t cater to kids, so why not set up a small home gym in your interiors itself with some power packed bikes, treadmills so that the bad weather does not affect your child fitness regime. Trust me; your kid will love a home gym and can spend numerous hours there.

Feed them with nutritional foodstuffs:
Remember that healthy, well-balanced diet reduces the risk of nutritional disorders and helps kids to grow stronger and faster. So feed your kid with variety of foods to ensure that they obtain all the essential nutrients. Start their day with a glass of milk, an egg, seasonal fruit and a bowl of fortified cereals. The key point is to give your kids a healthy jumpstart.
