How to Keep your Joints Healthy

April 22, 2009

CB060667Moving our elbows, our knees and other joints of our body is like a taken for granted thing. How will you react when these joints start paining, making it difficult for you to move and use your joints? A very scary thought but quite true. Many of us face the trouble of painful joints. Given below are some tips that can eliminate this worry and provide you with healthy and fit joints.

To keep you joints healthy, you need strong, healthy, and fit bones, muscles and cartilage. And all this can be achieved through proper diet, healthy exercising and some other basic care tips. Lifestyle changes are required to prevent this problem and other age related joint problems like arthritis and osteoporosis. After all, our movements are largely dependent upon our joints health. Thus, keeping them healthy is imperative.

Exercise everyday. There is no need to overexert your body as that can lead to unwanted injuries. Instead, make regular exercising a habit as that helps in increasing flexibility, endurance and strength of your bones, muscles and joints. Additionally, if you are overweight, then you must try to shed off some extra kilos as that can help in reducing the stress on your joints. This is because excessive weight stresses your joints, making them painful.

Along with proper exercise, you need a nutritious diet. Women should try to increase their calcium intake as a lack of it can lead to joint and bone problems like osteoporosis. You need to provide your body with all the essential vitamins and nutrients. Flaxseeds, cod liver oil and vitamins like vitamin D are extremely helpful for your joints health.

Along with above given tips, also ensure that you don’t overstress your joints by picking up extra weight. Follow the above given tips to have naturally strong and healthy joints.
