How to Keep your Bones Healthy
Today you might be fit and healthy, walking and running around, and climbing stairs with ease. But will your bones remain the same in the coming future? Yes, it is possible to keep your bones healthy in your later age if you start taking care of them from now itself.
We often hear about many painful stories of people suffering from bone related problems like osteoporosis. However, all these bone related disorders can be prevented. Read below and find out some ways by which you can keep your bones healthy and strong.
A proper diet is the key to healthy and disease free living. For strong bones, you need adequate calcium intake which can be provided to the body through diary products like milk, cheese and yogurt. If you are unable to provide your body with the required calcium content through diet, then you must take calcium supplements.
Most of us are aware that milk and dairy products are rich in calcium. But did you know that green vegetables can also provide calcium to your body? You should thus eat green vegetables like broccoli and spinach amongst others.
Along with providing calcium to your body, you also need to ensure that calcium is properly absorbed by the body. This in turn is done by Vitamin D. You should thus also provide Vitamin D to your body.
Along with a proper diet, you also need regular exercise to keep your bones healthy and fit. People who live a sedentary life are more prone to bone related disorders. You need to exercise regularly and you can indulge in normal activities like walking to aerobic exercises. Weight bearing exercises can also help in strengthening your bones.
The above given tips will not only help in keeping your bones healthy and strong, but will also aid in your overall health and wellness.
