How to Increase your Lung Capacity
If you are planning to become an athlete or a singer, then you need to have a good lung capacity. You might be wondering about the relationship between singing and sports and will also wonder about linking both of them with lung capacity.
Well, here we are talking about how important it is to have a good lung capacity for becoming successful in tasks like swimming, running, singing, or doing yoga.
All these activities require you to have good control over your breath and the ability to inhale and retain your breath for a long time and all this depends upon your lung capacity.
If you do not have excellent lung capacity, then don’t get disheartened. Here are some simple steps through which you can naturally enhance your lung capacity.
Breathing exercises are the best way out. Practice deep breathing and certain yogic asanas which involve the use and exercise of your breath. You should practice inhaling air, retaining it, and then slowly releasing it. Slowly, you’ll find your resistance increasing. These exercises should ideally be performed in the morning in the presence of fresh air.
Meditation and yoga are extremely useful. The breathing exercises involved in yoga helps a great deal in not only keeping a healthy control over your breath, but also stretches your muscles, respiratory muscles in particular, providing them with greater flexibility, eventually leading to increased lung capacity.
If you want to increase your lung capacity, then it’s not a bad idea that you start playing a wind instrument. This is because instruments like flute involve the use of breath and also helps in keeping a control on one’s breath. Swimming is another exercise that can help you out. Other cardio exercises like running and cycling are also helpful.
Thus, follow the above given tips to naturally increase your lung capacity.
