July 24, 2008

A clean and a clear skin not only looks beautiful but also reflects a healthy and a hygienic self. Blemishes like pimples, blackheads and whiteheads can act as a blot on one’s beauty thereby leading to a hampering of one’s confidence and self-esteem. Whitehead is a form of a an acne where the oil gets clogged inside the pore and appear as tiny, white and raised spots which are particularly found in the areas around the nose. Following some basic tips, one can get rid of these ugly spots and can also prevent the skin from the formation of other blemishes.

To get rid of existing whiteheads, one should apply a hot and a wet compressor on an existing whitehead to open the pore. After that, one should pop the whitehead with a sterile needle and gently squeeze it. However, one should exercise caution as squeezing it tightly or for too long can lead to a damage of the skin. To get rid of whiteheads and to prevent others from forming, one should ensure that one uses only oil-free products on one’s skin. Similarly, one should avoid wearing oily make-up or using products that contain oil. In addition, daily use of an exfoliate to smoothen the skin can also be effective in preventing the eruptions of whiteheads. One can use a natural exfoliate like oatmeal mixed with yogurt if one has oily skin and if one has dry skin, one can use milk. This face should be applied all over the face and then it should be massaged with fingertips in circular motion.

To keep one’s skin smooth and blemish free, one should take some basic precautions. The primary requirement demands that one keeps one’s skin clean by washing face diligently with warm water and mild soap. Steaming the face once in a week can be helpful in unclogging the pores. Following natural methods, one can prevent the skin from blemishes like whiteheads.
