How to get rid of Toe Nail Fungus
July 26, 2008
Medically known as Onychomycosis, Toe nail fungus is a fungal infection of the nail which leads to a discoloration of the nail thereby giving it a bad and an unhygienic look. The affected nail becomes yellow or brown in color and can also become painful while wearing shoes. Moreover, foul smelling debris can get accumulated under the nail providing it with a completely unhygienic look. This problem can be caused due to exposure to damp areas and also due to contact with an infected person. Moreover, people who wear tight fitting shoes can also develop this problem. Toe nail fungus can be a complete blot on one’s beauty along with being unhealthy and painful. However, there are certain natural and home made remedies available which can help in the effective healing of this problem.
Toe nail fungus can be naturally cured at home through the use of Tea Tree oil which is a natural antiseptic and fungicide. One should apply undiluted tree tea oil with olive oil to the affected toe nail to effectively cure this problem. A mixture of tree tea oil and lavender oil can also be applied on the affected area using cotton balls. Soaking your toes in Listerine mouthwash can also help in promoting the health of one’s toenails thereby preventing them from the problem of toe nail fungus. Another way to prevent the growth of fungus on your toes is by lathering AHA creams on your feet before going to bed as they help in flushing the rough scaly skin from the feet which is more prone to growing fungus.
Applying nail polish to the affected area is not a good idea as they can seal in the fungus thereby complicating the problem. However, using medicated nail polishes can be helpful in treating toe nail fungus. Moreover, one should trim down the infected nail to reduce the amount of infection along with preventing its spread to other nails. Preventing this problem is far easier than curing it. Thus, one should ensure that one wears proper fitting shoes as health is more important than style. Moreover keeping your feet dry and less sweaty through the use of foot powder can be effective in preventing the problem of toe nail fungus.

I had a problem with this and I found “No Fungus Now” to be helpful.
