How to get Rid of Onion Breath

How do you ensure that people in close proximity to you do not come to know that you had onion or garlic for meal? Onions usually send a kind of offensive smell in your mouth and due to this reason many people refrain from consuming it. The chemicals present in onions get broken in the mouth releasing foul smell. However, onions add taste to your food and also provide various nutritional and health benefits and one should not shun it just due to the fear of bad breath. After all, there are other effective ways of getting rid of onion breath. Read ahead to find out about it.

Drinking some green tae after consuming onion can help you get rid of the offensive smell. Similarly, drinking lemonade or simply consuming lemon in any form can also help. It has been found that chewing coffee beans immediately after consuming onion can help subdue the smell. Many of you must have noticed mint chewing gums being used after consuming onion.

This is because mint helps in changing the flavor as well the smell of your mouth to a more favorable one. Thus, you can also chew a few mint leaves after eating onions or onion rich dish. Little use of mint-flavored spray can help in masking the smell and taste of onion breath. Similarly, chewing salt-dipped parsley can help in combating onion breath.

Also, having fruit candies can also help in this cause. Proper oral hygiene methods like brushing of teeth and rinsing your mouth with a mouth wash are also helpful remedies for effectively combating onion breath. Thus, the next time you fear about foul smell, just follow these simple remedies and effectively get rid of onion breath rather than just giving up eating onions.
