How to get Rid of Double Chin

January 6, 2009

A beautiful and a well proportionate face is one which enchants everyone. No one likes to have double chin as it is a loud indicator of unhealthy lifestyle and a signifier of a person being overweight. Also, double chin can be an indication of getting old due to weakening and sagging of skin.

However, many small children and teenagers suffer from double chin due to lack of exercise and being overweight. Thus, the best way to get rid of double chin is by healthy eating and exercising, especially indulging in exercises that target the muscles of jaw and mouth.

Like it or not, double chin implies extra fat in the body. Thus, to get rid of those unwanted layers of chin, you need to get rid of extra fat. Control your diet. This does not imply dieting, but instead improve your eating habits. Cut down on fats and calories and instead include more of fresh green vegetables and fruits in your diet. To reduce double chin, you need to lose overall weight.

Aerobic exercises are a good way to reduce weight. Also, certain facial exercises can help in getting rid of unwanted fat from the face along with firming up the facial muscles. Here are few exercises and postures which can help you get freedom from unwanted double chins.

First of all, a good posture is necessary. Sit and stand straight with head high above the shoulders and jaw slightly jutted. Certain exercises which can reduce double chin include opening mouth wide open for 10 seconds. Repeating this exercise can help you. Similarly, point your chin up, pucker your lips and push them far out, as much possible. Hold it in this position for 10 seconds and then relax. Also, chewing gums, sugar-free ones, can help in working out your facial muscles to keep them tight and firm. Follow these simple tips and lead a healthy lifestyle to get rid of unwanted double chins.
