How to Get Rid of Bruises
Bruises, caused by broken blood vessels on the surface of the skin, lead to an ugly patch on the skin. Getting rid of bruises is not instant as the mark remains even after the pain has subsided. However, there are ways by which you can naturally accelerate the healing process to quickly get rid of bruises.
Immediately after the bruise occurs, you need to apply a cold compression on the bump. Wash the wound with cold water and mild soap and then dry it up thoroughly. By cleaning the area affected, you will be able to prevent the formation of any infection which might occur due to peeling of skin. Application of ice helps in reducing the swelling of the area along with controlling blood flow by constricting the capillaries affected. Also, by the application of ice or cold compression, less blood leaks into the surrounding tissues thereby preventing spread and widening of the bruise. Don’t keep the ice continuously for too long as that can lead to chilling of the area. Instead, remove it after some time, provide some rest and then again reapply the cold compression. After this process, you should allow the area to rest for some time.
Here are some other home remedies which can help accelerate the healing process. On your bruise, a direct application of apple cider vinegar mixed with water can be applied. After a day of cooling, you should start applying heat as that helps in bringing more circulation which helps in clearing away accumulated blood on the bruise. Vitamin K ointments are also effective in the treatment of bruises as they help in strengthening the capillary walls. If your bruise is not healing or lasts longer than two to three weeks, then you should consult a doctor.
