How to deal with unhealthy habits

February 2, 2009

Hey girls and guys do you often bite your nails? Do you often get irritated by your brother’s habit of picking his nose? The ear digging habit is also another unhealthy habit that makes many of us annoyed. Isn’t it? Undoubtedly many of such unhealthy habits get cultivated in our life from childhood, that now getting rid of them seems daunting. But mind it sooner you take a control over them, better for you.

Remember that nail biting isn’t bad just because they make the looks of your hands worse, but because compulsive nail biting can lead to fungal infections. Such nail fungal infections if not treated timely can permanently damage your nails. Also your nails aren’t always clean and unless you wash them before biting you can get into an array of troubles like stomach aches, loosies and even vomiting. So, girls and guys bring a halt to your nail biting habit before it affects you in a bad manner.

Itching in your ears makes a person to scratch them with anything that’s sharp. Yes that’s true that many of us involuntarily and unknowingly pick a pen and put it inside our ears to scratch that itch. But people think twice before doing this! Such a thing can lead to acute otitis externa-the inflammation of the ear canal between the eardrum and the outside of the ear. Your ear canal may get infected being dark and warm. It is an apt place for germs and fungi to thrive in. on a more serious note, in extreme cases it can lead to chronic ear infection which can result in loss of hearing. So instead make use of ear buds to wipe your ears. Never insert the ear bud into your ear canal. Just twirl it around the outside of the canal.
