How to deal with craving situation

October 3, 2008

Certainly when you are making hard efforts to lose your weight, then it becomes all more important to control those unnecessary binges that attack you. If you are also suffering from same situation, then read out the following easy ways that can surely help you in conquering your cravings.

Know the reason:
Do you know that different emotions trigger off craving for food? So make sure you know what your trigger is and work on the different ways to deal with them. Anxiety and loneliness are some common reasons for such triggers, for e.g. if work related stress is making you binge, then try talking to your boss. If some relationship problem is pulling towards it, talk to your partner.

Don’t avoid food:
Certainly you can’t live without food, no matter how much you make attempts to avoid them. The very fact that when you think of foodstuffs as something that you can avoid; creates an even stronger craving for the same. So just have food in moderate quantities according to your body needs, this will never harm you in any way! Make sure that you never deny your body the nutrition it deserves.

Distract yourself:
Whenever cravings for foodstuffs like pizzas, burgers, cold drinks and other non-nutritional items hits you, make efforts to divert your mind in some constructive activity. The key here is to attract your mind with an activity that you can enjoy. For this, you can listen to music; go for a jog or even for shopping.

Stay hydrated
Do you know that many of us head towards food without really being hungry? This is because we often mistake out thirst for hunger. So make sure you drink plenty of water on regular basis for keeping your body hydrated and filled.
