How to Cook Black Beans

To cook black beans, you just need one cup of dried black beans and water. First of all, ensure that what you are consuming is devoid of any stones or foreign material. Thus, pick out these unwanted stuff from your black beans before moving to the cooking procedure. To clean black beans, you can cover the beans with cold water and let it sit for 5 minutes or so. Then, remove all that stuff which you find floating in the water. Before cooking black beans, it is always advisable to soak them for 2 to 4 hours so that they become hydrated and take less cooking time. You should soak them in cold water and then cook them at a very gentle simmer so that nutrients are not lost. To cook black beans, you should first remove the soaked water. Then add beans to enough water and bring to a boil; but as discussed, at a slow simmer. Usually, beans get cooked within 1 to 2 hours. After the beans are ready, they make up a healthy and nutritious meal. Thus, follow these simple cooking tips to enjoy the taste of black beans along with yielding its numerous health benefits.
