August 21, 2008

Do you suffering from nightmare that leaves you fearful and upset? Troubled by thinking ways to get relieve from this scary situation. Read out this articles that can help you in getting relief from terrifying nightmares.
First of all before hitting your bed at night, do relax yourself for sometime. To relax yourself you can meditate for few minutes, take a bath, drink some herbal tea or do some stretching exercises to calm your body both internally as well as externally.

If something is bothering you, clear your mind with that. You can make a list of your problems and their possible solutions to look at them again the next morning. But don’t sleep with a worrisome mind; it will surely give birth to nightmares.

Avoid watching evening news, horror movies or movies that show graphic violence. This usually gets stored in your mind and when you sleep such pictures and graphics do come up in your dreams. Rather go for some calm or romantic movie for soothing effect.

You can always go for light snacks like milk and yoghurt. This is because such foodstuff contains calcium and tryptophan that have relaxing effect on your body. When your body gets relaxed, it will definitely ensure you a sound and a restful sleep.

Avoid eating fatty and spicy foods, which could cause gas and in turn, nightmares. It would be better if you eat a balanced diet.

Make sure you give up your smoking habit, as nicotine present in cigarettes has been directly linked with major sleep disorders. So at least cut down their consumption if you can’t leave smoking.

Also, stop taking any drugs or medicines that are not essential for your healthy body and its well-being. This is because at times such drugs do affect your sleeping patterns.
