April 22, 2009

antproofhouseAre you troubled by the entry of uninvited ants in your house? Ants and other bugs can be a pain for anyone as they not only invade your house but also lead to painful bites and the obvious drawback- the sight of ants crawling in your house is not an appealing sight.

Thus, if you too are wondering of ways to get rid of ants, then the given tips can help you out.

To ant proof your house, you need to prevent them from entering your house in the first place. This can be done by not providing ants with any sort of temptation which can be in form of even a tiny dropped particle of food.

Thus, you need to keep your house clean and tidy with no open food item or dropped food particles.

Especially, you need to take care of your kitchen and ensure all your food items, especially sweet foods, are in tight sealed containers with no place for ants to creep in.

This small step can help a great deal in preventing the entry of ants in your house. Also, get rid of your garbage and don’t let it remain for a long time in or near your house.

Along with keeping your house tidy, you also need to find out about the entry point of ants in your house.

That is to say, you need to locate the crack in the wall or the small gap in your doors which are allowing ants to enter your house. After you locate their entry point, you can seal it off.

There are also certain strong smells that can prevent ants from entering your house.

These include smells of mint and cayenne pepper and even lemon can help you out. If none of the remedies work, then there are ant repellent sprays that can help you out.
