September 3, 2008

Do you know that vitamins are really significant and crucial for your body to make it stay healthy and fit? Though they are required in small quantities but you can never deny the fact that how much they are intrinsic part of your health.

You should derive vitamins from the foods that you eat; otherwise inadequate intake of any vitamin can lead to various numbers of deficiencies and diseases, ailments in your body. But this is only the one side of coin. If inadequacy of vitamins can cause number of deficiencies in your body, then mind it that overdose of vitamins can also affect your body very badly. High dosages of some vitamins can cause side effects and symptoms like nausea, diarrhea, and vomiting. Isn’t this surprising? But trust me this is 100 percent true. Over intake of vitamin A can results in nausea, vomiting, dizziness, clumsiness, headache, burred vision, liver problems, birth defects and can also increase your chances of suffering from osteoporosis. Increases dosages of vitamin D in your body can lead to nausea, poor appetite, weakness, vomiting, and weight loss, and constipation, heart beating problems, and deposits of calcium and phosphate in soft tissues. Overuse of vitamin C can lead to upset stomach, increased absorption and kidney stones. High levels of folic acid may lead to nerve damage.

Though the present scenario in which we all live where pollution and stress are an inevitable part our life compels us to intake proper amount of vitamins in our diet, but do you know that it’s equally important to check out the doses of vitamins too. Otherwise it will be late enough for us. trust me it would be better to pay attention before than paying large amount of bills later in life due to diseases and ill health.
