Household Cleaning Tips

August 5, 2008

Decorating and furnishing a house is the beginning of a long term maintenance process which every household demands. Cleaning a house is one of the most essential components of a beautiful and a hospitable house and by following certain tips, one can make this process simple and comfortable. People generally get sleepless nights and jitters at the thought of the whole process of household cleaning. However, this whole process can be easily simplified by dividing your house into separate modules and cleaning it according to the given tips.

Every woman generally dreads at the thought of cleaning a kitchen because of its various demands for cleaning. To clean the grease which might have formed in the kitchen area, on can throw a bit of cornstarch or baking soda on the grease and then wipe it with a clean cloth. This helps in the easy removal of greasy stains. Mixing one tablespoon of household bleach in a spray bottle full of water and using it as a spray disinfectant in the kitchen area can help in keeping the place hygienic and infection-free. Every day use of microwave can lead to an accumulation of tiny food articles in it which can over a period of time become sticky and dirty. To effectively clean a microwave, one should put a sponge soaked in white vinegar or lemon juice in the microwave and cook it for 1 to 2 minutes. Keep the microwave door shut for 5 minutes as this would help in sliding off the food particles which get stuck in the remote corners of the microwave.

Cleaning a bathroom
can be a big challenge as one needs to keep it clean and hygienic to prevent diseases and infections. To clean the stubborn stains in the bathtub, one can apply a paste of hydrogen peroxide and cream of tartar on it with the help of a toothbrush. It should be then thoroughly rinsed to attain the desired effect. Moreover, bathroom odors can be controlled by putting cotton balls filled extracts in bowls or under the sink.

Other household areas can also be cleaned through simple means. An effective remedy to keep ants away from one’s house is by sprinkling cinnamon or pepper along the entrance areas. One should make it a point to clean one module at a time as cleaning the whole house at one go is not feasible as it can only lead to anger, irritation and fatigue.
