Hot tips for hot-weather hairstyles

April 18, 2009

hairbarekegesSummer. It is the season that brings fun in the sun and time outdoors. But your hair seems to frustrate you on a daily basis and misbehaves every chance it gets.

Humidity and heat seem to be at every turn and trying to fight it can be a trying and stressful experience. But have no fear, for there is hope at the end of the rainbow.

If your hair is super short, gel can be your new best friend. It won’t matter if your hair is curly, wavy or just plain straight. By rubbing a dollop of gel in your hands and then applying throughout your hair while damp will keep away the frizzes.

Be sure to do this while your hair is still damp from the shower. You will get great control and a great look.

Twirling works great for medium length hair. This is one of the easiest styles to get and works with the humidity instead of against it.

While you hair is still damp, twirl sections of your hair around your finger while applying a definer at the same time.

Let it set for approximately ten minutes until dry. You can then use your fingers to comb your hair and get great curls.

For long hair, ponytails are a great and easy style that you can dress up or dress down. The Faux Hawk is a great summer pony tail style.

Use bobby pins to keep the hair in place at your temples. Then, pull your hair into a sleek pony tail.

You can then tease the top of your hair to the desired height.

For hair that is long and straight, a wide headband is the perfect trick. To add body, simply dry your hair with head turned upside down. Last but not least, if your hair is curly, combs are perfect.

A vintage comb will give your hair style and flair. If your hair is extremely curly you should use a spray to help ease the tangles. They will give you originality and keep your hair out of your face.
