Also known as hemorrhoids, piles refer to an inflamed condition of veins inside or just outside the rectum. There are generally two kinds of piles- one which is external and is accompanied by lot of pain and the other which is internal characterized by discharge of dark blood. Mostly caused due to chronic constipation and bowel disorders, piles are characterized by symptoms which include pain while passing stools, feeling of soreness and irritation after passing stools and discomfort or pain in the rectal region during the process of sitting down. By following certain natural and home made remedies, one can ward off the problem of piles to live a healthy life.

To get rid of the problem of piles, one needs to first address the problem of chronic constipation which is the primary root cause of this problem. This can be done by providing your digestive tract with a complete rest for few days along with aiding in the thorough cleansing of the intestines. For this, one should first adopt an all fruit diet for at least 5 days by including fruits like grapes, apple, orange, pineapple, melon and others. In addition, having a juice of orange in a glass of warm water or taking lukewarm water daily in the morning can help in the cleaning of bowels along with providing rest to rectal tissues. After all fruit diet, one should consume vegetables and food items which are less in fat to enable the proper functioning of the digestive tract which in turn would help in solving the problem of piles.

In addition to the above given remedy, the problem of piles can also be treated with the help of dry figs. One should soak 3-4 figs in a glass of water and keep it soaked overnight. These figs should be consumed the next morning on an empty stomach to get the desired affect. Mango seeds have been found effective for the treatment of bleeding piles. In addition, ginger, radish, tulip and others can all aid in the effective treatment as well as prevention of piles. By following certain home remedies and a proper and an effective diet, one can ensure the overall well being of one’s health.
