March 12, 2009

An infectious disease, typhoid is often transmitted through intake of contaminated food or water. It is a disease which is accompanied by fever and since it affects the intestines, there are other common symptoms associated with it. These include ulceration of bowels, diarrhea, stomach ache and other symptoms like body ache, fatigue, loss of appetite, and even skin rashes. Given below are some simple home remedies that can speed up the recovery process of typhoid.

As mentioned before, the problem of typhoid affects the intestinal region of the body. Thus, diet plays a crucial role during typhoid. You should strictly avoid the consumption of solid foods as that can burden the digestive system. The aim is to provide your digestive system with adequate rest and thus, you need to include plenty of fluids and liquid in your diet. Fruit juices like apple juice, sweet lime water and pure water are effective.

You can also include fresh and easily digestible fruits like oranges in your diet. Additionally, one can also drink hot water mixed with a teaspoon of honey. Once the digestive system and intestines become healthy, a person can restart his well balanced and nutritious diet. However, during the period when he is affected, it is essential to have plenty of fluids and liquids in place of solid food.

Apart from keeping a strict check on one’s diet, there are also some other home remedies than can prove effective during typhoid. One such effective remedy involves taking few basil leaves, saffron sheds, and few grains of black pepper which need to be grinded into a paste through addition of some water. This paste then needs to be cut in shape of few tablets and those tablets should be consumed twice a day with lukewarm water. You can also boil cloves in water and then strain the mixture and drink it after cooling it. This helps to provide natural relief from typhoid.

Follow the above given simple home remedies to effectively get rid of the problem of typhoid. Additionally, remember few preventive tips like consumption of clean water and hygienic living conditions to prevent the problem of typhoid.
