Home Remedies for Treating Acne
Acne is a common skin condition which can appear as whiteheads, blackheads or small pink bumps called pimples. It usually begins with blackheads which are formed when oil and dead cells get trapped in a pore. When blackheads become inflamed, they become red and turn into pimples. Home remedies are the best means to treat acne as they effectively help to make the skin neat and clean without any harmful side-effect.
Honey and Cinnamon power
A paste made by mixing honey and cinnamon powder should be applied on the affected area before sleeping. It should be washed with warm water the next morning. Following this remedy for two weeks would help in the removal of pimples.
Garlic in acne cure
Garlic is one of the oldest home remedies for the treatment of acne. The affected area should be rubbed with raw garlic several times a day. This external use of garlic can help to cure acne scars, skin spots and boils. Moreover, acne can be further cured by the intake of raw garlic daily for one month.
Clove and mint
Acne can also be cured by making a paste of clove powder and mint by the addition of a few drops of water. This paste should be applied every night for some twenty minutes. The mint present in this paste provides a soothing effect and also helps to control redness and burning.
Orange peel paste
Homemade treatment using orange peels has been found very effective. Orange peel paste can be made by grinding it on stone with some water and this paste should be applied on the acne affected area.
Methi leaves for prevention
A paste of fresh methi (fenugreek) leaves should be applied over the face in the night for about 10 to 15 minutes. This would prevent the skin from the occurrence of pimples, blackheads and wrinkles.
In addition to the above methods, juice of raw papaya and the application of ripe tomatoes on the affected area can also be used to treat the problem of acne. These long tried and tested methods are any day better than skin creams and lotions as the former helps to keep the skin smooth and clean without any threat of side-effects.
