Home Remedies for Toothache
Toothaches can be really painful as they are characterized by sharp, throbbing, shooting or constant pain. They are generally caused by tooth decay which can result due to false diet and unhealthy living style. Eating plenty of sweets and chocolates is one of the major reasons why toothache due to tooth decay is common in children. The problem of toothache should be treated on time or else it can lead to serious consequences of having to remove the tooth only. There are various home made remedies available which can help in reducing the pain associated with toothaches and can also help in preventing the problem of tooth decay.
If you are suffering from toothache, you can try the home remedy of massaging your tooth jaws with a paste prepared by mixing 3-4 drops of mustard oil with a pinch of salt. Along with giving relief from toothache, this mixture helps in making the gums and jaws strong. One of the most effective home remedy for toothache is garlic. A clove of garlic with a little rock salt should be placed on the affected tooth to relieve the pain. Regular chewing of clove in the morning can help in the strengthening of one’s teeth. This is because clove has antiseptic properties and one can also apply clove oil to a cavity in a decayed tooth to get relief from toothache associated with tooth decay. In addition, lemon juice is an effective home remedy for tooth ache and people suffering from this problem should take freshly prepared lemon or orange juice to get rid of toothache, bad breath and heavy bleeding of gums.
In addition to the given remedies, one should follow certain basic tips to prevent tooth decay. For this, one should avoid sweet foods which can lead to cavity formation. In addition, regular brushing, gargling after every meal, taking a nutritional diet with high intake of fruits and vegetables can ensure the health of one’s tooth which in turn can prevent the painful problem of toothache.
