Sunstroke is characterized by various symptoms like headaches, nausea, vomiting, dizziness, weakness, breathing difficulty, palpitation, and even loss of consciousness. Given below are some simple home remedies that can help you deal with the problem of sunstroke.
Before moving to the natural remedies for sunstroke, it is important to know the various causes of it so that you can prevent this problem form occurring.
Excessive alcohol consumption, excessive exercising and staying out in heat, dehydration and decreased sweating are some of the causes of sunstroke. Thus, you must prevent these causes to avoid sunstroke.
Since dehydration is a cause of sunstroke, the basic natural remedy for treating this problem involves keeping your body hydrated through adequate intake of water.
Oral dehydration solutions help as they help in replenishing your body with lost fluid and electrolyte. Also, avoid going out in sun. Incase you seem to suddenly find yourself witnessing the symptoms of sunstroke when you are outdoors, then you must try to take rest in a cool and shady place.
Also, try to get back home and in an air conditioned room to make yourself cool and comfortable. A sponge with ice-cold water also helps.
Along with the above given remedies, there are also some dietary recommendations for effectively treating sunstroke. Have plenty of fruits and vegetables.
Along with water, you can also have fresh fruit juices. Additionally, it has been found that daily intake of buttermilk can provide relief from the problem of sunstroke.
