Home Remedies for Stomach Ache

July 9, 2008

Stomach Ache is a common problem which can occur in any person of any gender or age. Characterized by a pain in the area between chest and groin, stomach ache can occur due to indigestion, eating the wrong kind of food, chronic constipation, ulcers and can also occur due to toxicity in the liver. If your stomach ache is not an indicator of some serious problem like appendicitis, then it can be cured through simple, natural and harmless means.

An effective home remedy for stomach ache includes drinking of lemon tea with an addition of some honey. One can also drink a herbal mixture made by mixing 1 tsp each of mint juice and limejuice along with addition of some ginger juice and black salt to attain an immediate relief. If one is suffering from stomach ache due to indigestion, then one can take ¼ cup of fresh onion juice with ½ teaspoon honey and ½ teaspoon black pepper. Similarly, to relieve stomach ache associated with diarrhea, one should rub fresh ginger juice on one’s stomach, especially around the belly button.

Ginger is very beneficial for the overall functioning of the stomach. It is one of the best herbs to strengthen the digestive fire and thus, one should eat a little of fresh ginger before every meal. One can also have ginger tea which can be prepared by boiling a little fresh ginger which can be grated, chopped or sliced.

Stomach is one of the most sensitive portions of one’s body which needs extra care and protection to remain in a healthy functioning position. Prevention is better than cure and hence, one should drink plenty of water and increase one’s intake of green and leafy vegetables to ensure smooth bowel movements. In addition, one should avoid too much of spicy food, caffeine, alcohol and smoking to ensure the proper health of one’s stomach.
