Home Remedies for Nose Bleeds
Nose bleedings or nose bleeds are quite common and many people, especially children, seem to get it sometime or the other in their life. Nose bleeds can be caused by a number of factors like injury to the nose, nose picking, dryness, cold, infection of the mucous membrane and others. A majority of such cases can be easily treated at home with the help of some given natural home remedies.
Before trying out remedies to control and stop nose bleeding, you should first forcefully blow your nose. This helps in the removal of any blood clot which might be remaining. Whenever you have a nose bleed, you should sit in a straight position so as to avoid the tickling of blood into your throat. Here are some home remedies which can help stop the problem of nose bleeds. Putting a drop or two of lemon juice on the affected area is helpful as lemon is a good antiseptic and also aids in fast coagulation of blood. You can also apply a cold ice pack on the nose to constrict and lessen the bleeding. Salt water is another effective home remedy. This involves spraying a water solution, which has few pinches of slat in it, on your nose. This formula works due to the anti coagulant properties of salt. You can also try packing your nose with cotton and applying pressure on it to stop the bleeding. Never pick your nose when it is bleeding or else you’ll prolong the healing process.
Along with these natural treatments, you should also get your blood pressure checked as high BP can lead to nose bleeds. Also, if despite these given home remedies, your nose bleed is not stopping, then you should visit a doctor to rule out any internal complication.
