Home Remedies for Low Blood Sugar
If you develop a sudden craving for sweets and starch between meals, then it may be an indication of low blood sugar. As the name suggests, this problem occurs when the blood sugar level falls below normal and is generally characterized by nervousness, fatigue, headaches and even irritability. If the patient experiences all these symptoms, then it is always advisable to take a teaspoon of sugar and then seek medical attention. Moreover, there are also natural and home made remedies available to prevent and even cure the problem of low blood sugar.
The best way to naturally treat low blood sugar is by indulging yourself in a healthy and a nutritious diet which should primarily consist of grains, seeds, nuts, vegetables, fruits and milk products. Seeds and nuts should be taken in their raw form and people suffering from low blood sugar should take at least six to eight meals a day to keep their blood sugar in check. Moreover, drinking milk, buttermilk or fruit juices between meals can be beneficial for the treatment and prevention of this problem. One should avoid all refined and processed food, white sugar and white flour to remain healthy and fit. People suffering from low blood pressure should reduce their salt intake as excessive intake of salt causes loss of blood potassium which in turn causes the blood sugar to drop. The diet of such people should be rich in vitamins like C, E and B complex as such vitamins have proved their importance in the treatment and prevention of low blood sugar.
In addition to a proper diet, one needs rest, relaxation and meditation to prevent the problem of low blood sugar. Yoga has proved its value in this department as it not only helps in treating this problem in an effective way, but it also brings about an overall well being of a person through its physical and spiritual healing powers. By following these basic diet recommendations and relaxation techniques, one can naturally prevent the problem of low blood pressure.
