itchingScratching your skin due to some sort of irritation or allergy on the skin is extremely uncomfortable and also a kind of social embarrassment. After all, you wouldn’t like to see yourself scratching your skin to get relief from the itch in public.

Itching can be caused by a number of factors like allergies, skin irritation and infection, sunburns, dry weather, and also due to bug bites. Overexposing your skin to extreme hot or cold baths can also be reason for your skin getting irritated which in turn leads to that unwanted itch. Given are some natural ways by which you can get rid of itching.

A simple way of getting rid of the itch and avoiding the urge to scratch your skin is by applying a paste of baking soda and water on the affected area. Baking soda is an effective home remedy for getting rid of all kinds of itches. You can add one cup of baking soda to a warm water tub and soak your itchy body parts in it to find relief. An oatmeal bath is also helpful.

Applying certain kinds of oil can also help in providing relief from an itchy skin. You can apply coconut, cod liver, or Vitamin E oil to the affected areas. Similarly, applying lemon juice or Aloe Vera is also helpful.

If you are suffering from an itchy skin, then there is an irresistible urge to scratch the itchy area. However, you must refrain from this urge as it can lead to the skin becoming red and bruised. If you are unable to control yourself from scratching your skin, then you can wear gloves to prevent your skin from getting scratch marks.

If you have an itchy skin, then you must avoid the contact of your skin with harsh chemicals found in soaps, detergents and even in certain cosmetic products. Thus, follow the given tips to get relief from the problem of itching.
