Home Remedies for Indigestion

Going for a marriage party and eating more than required is quite common with most of the people. This can lead to the problem of indigestion which is generally characterized by acidity, heartburns and gas trouble. Thus, it is always better to be aware of natural and home made remedies which can be used to treat the problem of indigestion.

If you are suffering from the problem of indigestion, you can naturally treat it by drinking a glass of water which has 2-3 drops of mint essence added in it. This should be drunk after every 4 hours to ease the discomfort which is associated with the problem of indigestion. Similarly, half a glass of pineapple juice taken after every meal is very effective in treating indigestion. Another remedy which can be prepared at home is that which is prepared by adding 1 spoonful of lemon juice, one spoonful of ginger and two spoons of honey in a glass of lukewarm water. This should be mixed well and drunk to reduce the symptoms of indigestion. Fruits like grapes and oranges have been found quite effective for this problem as orange helps in giving rest to the digestive organs while grapes help in removing irritation from the stomach. To attain immediate relief, one should mix equal parts of baking soda and water or one can try another remedy of mixing cumin seeds in a glass of water and drinking it. One can also mix a tablespoon of lemon juice or cider vinegar in a cup of hot water and drink it before meals to prevent acid indigestion.

There are also certain yogic asanas which are helpful in alleviating the problem of indigestion. Asanas like rdhmatsyasana, uttanpadasana, vajrasana, yogamudra, bhujangasana and shavasana have proved to be quite beneficial in the prevention as well as cure of the problem of indigestion. By following such simple and effective methods, one can get rid of the discomfort caused by the problem of indigestion.
