Home Remedies for Hot Flashes
For women in late 40’s and 50’s, the one recurrent thought and even fear is that of menopause and its related symptoms. Menopause is seen with a big fear factor as so much is said and heard about it that often one gets disconnected with the truth.
However, one thing which every woman associates with menopause is hot flashes. Hot flashes is one of the menopausal symptoms that is defined as a sudden feeling of hotness on the face and upper body which can be accompanied by other problems like a feeling of uneasiness, perspiration, night sweats, headaches, weakness, anxiety and even a feeling of suffocation.
If you experience the uncomfortable problem of hot flashes, then you don’t need to get panicky about it. Many women face this problem and this is usually a result of declining estrogen levels in the body. To effectively deal with the problem of hot flashes, here are some home remedies that are simple yet quite effective.
First of all, try to recognize the triggers that can cause or worsen your problem of hot flashes. According to many women, having alcohol, coffee, or caffeinated drinks can worsen the problem of hot flashes. Similarly, smoking should be avoided. Keep yourself relaxed and calm as stress is one factor that can trigger the problem of hot flashes.
Don’t think that hot flashes require some really high remedies. Instead, simple home remedies like keeping yourself relaxed, both physically and emotionally is helpful. Also, wear loose and comfortable clothes and you’ll feel the difference.
Diet and exercise also help in naturally providing relief from hot flashes. It is usually advised that having a low fat diet helps as it helps in keeping your weight under check. However, do not take this advice in extreme as you should not starve yourself and become underweight.
Having an optimal and a healthy weight always helps. Additionally, it has been found that exercising regularly can also help in preventing and naturally treating the problem of hot flashes.
