Home Remedies for Fractures
Fractures are quite common in young children due to the amount of adventures they indulge in. However, people with weak bones and with deficiency of calcium are also prone to bone fractures. Fractures can be extremely painful with almost no movement of the affected area. It can also lead to swelling, numbness and restricted movement of the affected area. Fractures can take a long time to heal depending upon the complexity and place of fracture. However, there are certain home remedies which can help you out.
With age, bones become weak and fragile taking longer to heal. First of all, you need to take medical assistance to get your fracture fixed and plastered. To aid fast and efficient healing, certain home remedies can come handy. It has been found that eating pineapples every day can help in fats recovery of fractures. This is because pineapples contain Bromelain which is an enzyme that helps in the reduction of swelling and inflammation.
Similarly, taking boron, calcium, magnesium and potassium is essential for repairing bone damage along with ensuring healthy muscle condition. Also take zinc as that helps in repairing tissue damage. It is always better to provide these essential nutrients to the body through diet to help achieve healthy and strong bones, not weak and fragile ones.
Along with consuming these much required nutrients, you also need to avoid certain things to ensure fast recovery and fractures. For example, avoid eating foods with preservatives and also avoid caffeine and red meat. If you are suffering from rib fracture, then applying ice on the affected area and taking rest can help in alleviating pain. You should also ensure that you follow the advise of your doctor and refrain from overusing or overworking the fractured area so as to avoid further complications.
