Home Remedies for Eye Stye
When you eyes get infected by bacteria, then they can become swollen, red, itchy and painful- a condition medically termed as an eye stye. This article will provide you with some simple home remedies to get rid of an eye stye.
Usually people who have a stye end up having pus filled in the swollen and inflamed boil around the eye. To drain the pus out and to have a fast recovery, it is advised that you apply warm compresses to the affected area.
You can also soak a cotton pad with warm water and apply it on your eyes to get relief from the inflammation and pain caused by an eye stye.
If you are suffering from extreme pain and discomfort due to eye stye, then you can make use of guava leaves. First warm the guava leaves, then place them on a damp cloth and apply it on the affected eye region to get immediate relief.
Applying wet tea bags on the eyes can help in curing eye stye along with helping in relieving and refreshing your tired eyes.
To reduce eye swelling caused by stye, you can use potatoes. Applying potato paste on the affected area can help.
You must have often heard of the numerous healing benefits of turmeric. This healing herb can prove beneficial for treating eye stye too. You can make eye drops at home using turmeric. First mix turmeric powder in water, boil the mixture and finally strain it before using it as eye drops.
You should avoid touching the stye and you should also not try to squeeze it to get the pus drained out fast. This is because squeezing the stye can lead to worsening of the condition and it can also lead to spread of infection.
Thus, follow the above given simple tips to treat eye stye at home.
