Home Remedies for Ear Wax

July 2, 2009

earMany of us suffer from the problem of ear wax sometime or the other in our lives. It is quite natural for our ears to produce wax as it is a way of protecting the ears from infections.

However, there are times when the wax increases in amount and leads to discomfort, pain, and even hearing loss. Given below are some helpful tips by which you can naturally get rid of ear wax.

As a necessary step of precaution, always remember not to put any mechanical or sharp thing in your ear as it can damage your ear canal and affect your hearing.

If you feel that your ear wax is troubling you, you must consult a doctor to get the wax removed or follow some simple home remedies to easily get rid of ear wax in a safe way.

To get rid of ear wax, you must first soften the wax and that can be naturally done by using warm oils like that of olive oil or even baby oil.

All you need to do is to warm up the oil slightly above room temperature and then insert two or three drops of the warmed oil in your ears. This will help in softening the wax and in its easy removal.

Apart from using oils, you can also use ear drops that are medically designed for removing wax from ears. Also, you must have noticed the popular use of cotton ear swabs for cleansing ears of unwanted wax.

However, you must exercise proper caution and not push the cotton bud deep into your ear as that can harm your ears and your hearing.

Also do not use it unnecessarily and also avoid the use of hair pins as they too can adversely affect the health of your ears.

Thus, follow the above given home remedies to naturally get rid of unwanted ear wax.
