Home Remedies for Diabetes
Diabetes is a metabolic disorder that prevents the body from utilizing glucose partially or completely. Caused generally due to the insufficient production of insulin by the body, Diabetes is characterized by increased thirst, frequent urination, skin irritation, decreased healing capacity, obesity and loss of strength amongst others. Diabetes is a problem which needs to be controlled on time to prevent further complications like heart problems and other ailments of the eye, kidney and nerves. There are certain natural and home made remedies available for diabetic patients.
One of the best remedies of diabetes is the bitter gourd as it helps in reducing blood sugar levels in the blood and urine. Thus, eating this vegetable or drinking its juice can prove effective for diabetic patients. One can prepare an effective mixture at home by adding equal quantities of turmeric powder and gooseberry powder with honey. Along with this effective remedy, one can eat garlic regularly to keep one’s blood sugar in check. Parslane seeds can also be used effectively for treating diabetes. One should consume a tsp of these seeds with half cup water on a daily basis to enhance the body’s insulin level which in turn would help in keeping diabetes under control.
Amla with its high content of Vitamin C has been found useful in controlling diabetes. Similarly, taking ten tulsi leaves, ten neem leaves and ten belpatras with a glass of water early morning on an empty stomach helps in keeping one’s sugar levels under control. In addition, Indian gooseberry, grapefruits, bitter melon and fenugreek seeds all help in the effective prevention and treatment of diabetes. Thus, by following certain natural and home made remedies, one can ward off the life disrupting disease of diabetes and thus live a happy and a healthy life.
