Sometime or the other, we must have all suffered from fever. Fever is a very common problem but it should be treated properly as it can lead to lots of discomfort, and a disruption of normal routine. Fever implies rise in body temperature and it generally begins with slight shivering and pain in head and other parts of the body. The holy basil is considered as one of the best home remedies for fever. Make a potion using about twelve grams of these holy basil leaves, boiling them in half a liter of water. Give this daily twice a day with half a cup of milk, one teaspoon of sugar and a quarter teaspoon of powdered cardamom. This will help in bringing down the temperature. You can also treat fever naturally with the help of fenugreek. Make a tea with fenugreek seeds to reduce fever. Similarly, you can also make a tea from saffron. It has been found that the use of an extract from raisins is beneficial in the treatment of common fever. You can prepare this extract by soaking 25 raisins in half a cup of water and crushing them in the same water. Stain the potion. The raisin water obtained is like a tonic for fever. Similarly, a cup of fresh juice of apricots mixed with one teaspoon of glucose or honey is quite good for fevers. Another herb found beneficial in the treatment of fever is hog weed which helps in bringing down temperature by inducing copious perspiration.
