Home Remedies for Burns
It is always a safer idea to be aware of natural treatments for burns so as to be equipped to deal with sudden accidents. We generally associate burns with touching of some hot thing. However, burns can be of various kinds and can be caused by electrical appliances and live wire along with burns caused due to overexposure of the skin to sun. Whatever may be the cause of burns, simple home made treatments can be used to provide immediate relief and cure for minor burns. However, if the burns are of serious nature which have penetrated deep into the skin, one should immediately consult the doctor to avoid further complications.
The first and the foremost thing which one must do is to reduce the temperature of the burnt area. This can be done by applying cold water on the affected area. Application of honey on the burnt area after washing it with icy water can be a great help as honey has natural healing powers which help in the fast healing of wounds and burns. Another natural way by which one can heal burns is by applying two tablespoons of yogurt on the burned area for about 15 minutes. Aloe Vera is another element which is very useful for treating burns. One can cut some fresh Aloe Vera leaves and apply it on the burnt area. Once the wound starts healing, pouring the fluid of vitamin E capsule on it can help prevent scarring. According to people, applying a cut onion or an egg white on the affected area can help in the fast healing of burns.
Along with giving immediate natural treatments, it has been found that consuming a diet rich in proteins and calories can help in the speedy recovery of burnt patients. Some of the vitamins important for fast recovery of burns include Vitamin B complex, vitamin C, copper and zinc amongst others. One should take immediate treatment for burns so that they do not leave a dark shadow on one’s life.
