Home Remedies for Bruises

October 20, 2009

bruiseBruises are a very common problem, especially in growing children. A bruise is caused when a blood vessel ruptures. Bumping against a chair or a table, a fall and other injuries can lead to a bruise.

Along with physical injuries, bruises can also be caused due to lack of nutrients like vitamin C and also due to weak blood vessels. This article will provide some helpful tips to naturally treat bruises.

A bruise can lead to pain and the affected region becomes dark in color. Here are some home remedies that can reduce the pain and inflammation of the bruised body part along with helping in restoring the natural color of your skin.

Certain food items can help in fast recovery of your bruise. You need to have food items like lemons and broccoli. In addition, increase your intake of vitamin C as it helps in preventing easy rupture of your blood vessels.

Applying cabbage or crushed parsley on the bruised area helps in fastening the recovery process. Due to their anti-inflammatory nature, they also help in alleviating pain and discomfort.

Apple cider vinegar can be used to effectively treat bruises at home. All you need to do is to apply little vinegar on the affected region to feel the difference.

You can also prevent a bruise from occurring. As mentioned above, intake of vitamin C can help. When you get a physical injury, you should immediately apply an ice pack on the affected region to prevent the injury from turning into a bruise.

After application of ice, you should apply a heat pad as that will help in improving circulation, thereby preventing a bruise.

To get rid of dark blue and purple bruise marks, you should apply potato on the affected region.

Follow the above given home remedies to naturally treat the problem of bruise.
